Sabbath afternoon at the reunion in October, it was decided to get something for Lynette, in memory of her Mother. Money was collected and given to me to purchase a gift. I tried to contact Lynette's daughter-in-law, Kelly, for ideas, but was unable to get her. Since I am so indecisive, I called Kelly's mom and talked to her about ideas.
Research on the internet was next, and it seemed that what I was finding was either a lot more or less than the funds I was entrusted with. I didn't give up though, and finally found what I thought was pretty perfect. When Lynette posted the picture of the basket that was delivered to her, I was horrified because it didn't look at all like the pretty basket garden that was ordered, and I didn't think that it looked worth what we paid for it either. Just in case I was over reacting , I showed the two pictures to a few people, and they didn't think so. I found a number to call in my confirmation emails, and after much discussion and suggested remendies, I got a refund. Now I had money again and not sure what to do with it.
The end of January brought the principal of Maplewood to Florida for our Alumni Chapter meeting. She said that MWA was being evaluated for recertification in the spring, and they were trying to spruce up the campus. One project was to replace the old, faded,(insert ugly) pictures in the office with pictures of campus life taken in the last few years. I made an executive decision as class treasurer, and gave the money toward that project. Soooo, if you are ever on campus and see the new pictures in the office, just know you had a part in making it happen.
