So wanted to be there this weekend! My volunteer projects are making sure when I retire I will NOT be bored! The animal welfare nonprofit group I helped found, has a huge fundraiser, Meow & Chow, next weekend so involved with getting the final details done for that.

Keeping me busy when not at work is being Lincoln Animal Ambassadors low cost spay/neuter program coordinator. We have the only low cost spay/neuter program of its kind in Nebraska.

Am now working as Lancaster County District Court Work Release Officer--not sure why the officer part . . . Basically I do investigations and make recommendations to the judges whether I think inmates should be let out "on the loose" to go to work or look for work.

Had to give up my other volunteer position as victim advocate for Lincoln's domestic violence/sexual assault crisis center to take the new job. I manage to be involved with the domestic violence/sexual assault issue by making sure the perps have to enroll in DV classes if they want to be released from jail to work.

My kid, C, came to the life-changing realization that even though he was born as a female, his brain tells him differently. C now identifies as a male--which is something that did not surprise me at all. He's so much more settled, happier and at peace with himself--and that's what matters to me the most. C just resigned from his position at a screen printing business to go into business for himself as a graphics designer. He has one large client that was already keeping him more than busy. He is engaged to a wonderful, sweet girl and together they have 4 dogs and 2 cats--all rescued from a variety of situations. Couldn't be more proud of the whole bunch!

Have wonderful weekend and I will be thinking about you. Here's to the 50th Class Reunion in 2020!
